About the Course
An immersive week of creativity, craftsmanship and luxury residential learning, curated by Rachael Clunie Millinery
In 2027, Rachael Clunie Millinery will return to the beautiful Burgundy countryside for another extraordinary residential millinery retreat.
Created for those who want to step away from the demands of everyday life and give themselves the time and space to learn, experiment and develop their craft, the retreat offers a rare opportunity to become completely immersed in millinery within a relaxed and inspiring setting.
Award-winning milliner and costume designer Maor Zabar will return as guest tutor, following the success of his previous retreat with Rachael Clunie Millinery.
Internationally recognised for his imaginative approach to hat design, Maor brings together couture craftsmanship, sculptural form and theatrical storytelling. His work has appeared across fashion, film, television and the stage, and he is known for encouraging students to explore their creativity while developing strong technical skills.
The full 2027 programme is currently being curated, with details of the techniques, dates, accommodation and retreat experience to be announced.
More than a millinery course
This is not simply a series of classes. It is a carefully curated residential experience designed to allow participants to focus fully on their creativity.
Learning takes place within an intimate group, with dedicated tuition, time to develop individual ideas and the opportunity to share the experience with other passionate makers.
Alongside the workshops, participants can expect beautiful surroundings, wonderful food and time to relax, connect and return to their practice feeling creatively renewed.
Who is the retreat for?
The retreat is intended for adults with an interest in developing their millinery practice in a supportive and creatively ambitious environment.
Participants should be comfortable with basic hand sewing, but they do not need to be professional milliners. The most important requirements are curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to explore new ideas and techniques.
