
About the World Hat Walk
World Hat Walk – a brief timeline

The World Hat Walk is an annual, free global event celebrating millinery, style, and self-expression, where participants parade in their favorite headwear.
2024 - The first official World Hat Walk came into existence in 2024, thanks to efforts of British Hat Guild members Georgina Abbot and Becky Weaver. There were 21 cities taking part in the Walk.
2025 - The event grew to 58 cities across 6 continents.
2026 - This year there are almost 99 countries (and counting) taking part in this colourful and joyful event.

Purpose: To promote the creativity, craftsmanship, and joy of wearing hats.

Participation: Open to everyone—from professional milliners and collectors to hobbyists, cosplayers, and retro enthusiasts.

Rule: Only one simple rule: You must wear a hat.

Activity: Participants usually gather for a leisurely, social, and photogenic walk through city centers, organised by local organisers.
